  • 1. I am confused about sizing

    • Duvet Covers: Measure the size of your duvet and match it to the right

Sheets: Give your mattress a quick measure and match it to the size on the left.

Pillows Cases: Standard is well the standard everyday 50 x 75cm
Oxford is standard size however the case has a thick band around it to view
European is a large square pillow that goes at the back of your other pillows to view

Hardware: This is sizing information for materials and product information please

Duvets: Measure the size of your mattress and refer to the right. Always go for at least this size or we suggest one size up (so if your bed is King go for Super King) as then the duvet will sit nicely down the sides to view comparisons

Mattress Toppers: Measure the size of your mattress and then match it to the char

  • 2. What is the difference in material. Need blurb for each - refer suppliers info.
    • Egyptian cotton is the king in quality for bedding. It's soft on the skin so the girls love it. The higher the thread count, the softer the cotton feels the average thread count people usually buy is 400 count. Unfortunately it only comes in plain colours. The thread count means the amount threads both horizontal and vertical within a square inch. There are a number of other factors that affect this (See question 3) but the main thing you need to observe is the kite mark. This is the only guarantee that the product is made from the best Egyptian yarns and made entirely in Egypt. Beware of any others that don't bear this mark as "Egyptian Cotton" is also used as marketing term used by some companies that cannot get access to this quality. All Egyptian cotton sold on Hiszzz.com is 100% authentic Egyptian cotton.

  • 3. What's all this about thread count.
    • Polycotton- The industry standard is Percale. This is the minimum thread per square inch (thread count). When the weft (vertical) thread and the warp (horizontal) thread reaches 180 thread count within the square inch. This is our minimum standard we also apply to all our products sold on Hiszzz.com

Egyptian Cotton- the most popular thread count people buy is 400-thread count. This is where you really start to feel the quality difference within Egyptian cotton, although 200-thread count is great for "entry level". And 800-thread count is pretty amazing. Egyptian cotton uses a finer thread that allows for more thread to fit within a square inch. Finer threads are smoother and softer on the skin, you're girlfriend will notice the difference more than you if you're a hairy fellah.

To give you an idea of what to buy, if you have stayed in a 5 star hotel their standard thread count is 800 and if you haven't then aim for the 400-thread count. But if you want patterns and easy care, the polycotton is a great choice.

The kite mark is the only guarantee that the product is made from the best Egyptian yarns and made entirely in Egypt. Beware of any others that don't bear this mark as "Egyptian Cotton" is also used as marketing term used by some companies that cannot get access to this quality. • 4. Easy care are they really non iron?
    • Yes. But it will take a few days for the duvet to settle on your bed before all the creases come out.

  • 5. How do I look after my linen?
    • We asked the experts in the field of Dry cleaning. Starshine dry Cleaners provided the following advice.

Bright coloured bed linen should be washed at a temperature setting of 30 degrees. Starshine recommend using "Aerial Colour"

If you're allergic use non-bio powder or liquid

Plain coloured bed linen can be washed at a temperature setting of up to 40 degrees however you are also reminded that you can achieve the same result at 30 degrees with a an energy saving of 40% with every wash. If you wash once a week, it's a big saving to your wallet and the environment.

A little bit of training followed by a bit of thought means you can watch the football down the pub with your mates and not at the ironing board in your pants.

Drying your bed linen can be done on the clothes line or in the dryer.

If you're using the dryer to dry your bed linen, then the secret is to stop the drying process before the bed linen is completely dry. If you over-dry your bed linen, two things will happen.

      1. You will not get the creases out
      2. You will shorten the life of the bed linen

Keep the drying temperature at a low setting. Once the moisture is gone (or just before) remove the bed linen and leave to air before allowing the bed linen to settle on your bed and the creases will remove without you even touching an iron.

  • 6. Oh no I got a stain
    • It doesn't matter if you're getting some action in bed or it's a pizza stain, using Aerial in the recommended temperature (30 degrees) the stains should be removed.

If you think the stain is pretty full on, Starshine Dry Cleaners recommend using Vanish stain remover. White bed linen use Vanish Oxy (the White bottle). If you have bright/multi-coloured bed linen, use the pink bottle (the only time you should have pink in your house).

Best practice is to use Vanish as a pre wash scrub and then follow the normal wash cycle as recommended.
